All I got is that it’s a 1 owner. Which at a 2013- it should be.

The car in your photo isn’t the car with that VIN. It’s not green, which is why I know. That VIN is for a green car. If that photo is of the actual car, begin running and do not look back.
Seriously though, I’d be concerned about the battery. The VIN looks clean but I’ve no idea how an electric car holds up after 70k and I’d bet it needs a new battery which why it’s on the market. Not trying to be negative, just pointing out what you probably already considered.

two open recalls (14S21 RCM replacement and 15E03 PCM re-flash.) Only things in its warranty history are module reflashes and a headliner replacement for some recall action. Looks like a pretty clean car from a service standpoint. someone else will have to chime in with a Carfax or Autocheck.

it is greenish/bluish/metallic. Doesn’t look like a repaint at all to me. 70K miles is tough use in 3 years. But it will continue as such for long drives daily

NY taxi companies have put hundreds of thousands of miles on Escape hybrids without trashing the battery. Every HEV and PHEV has a pretty well thought out battery management strategy to maximize its useful life. I wouldn’t expect noticeable capacity loss until after that car has at well over twice the miles it has now.

Seems like a clean car and seems to be exactly what it says it is. However, I’m going to gently ask a question: Is it worth $10,000? I think it might be worth $5,000. I know shit about cars that actually run on anything other than children’s tears and cancer but I think you can do better with $10k.
I’m looking at this listing in Santa Rosa. If you’re seeing it via CarMax and if you can get the extended warranty, forget what you just read an pull the trigger and let them figure out if you need a new battery. It’s easily worth $10k if that headache doesn’t exist.

$5,000? Are you on crack? These Blue Book for $15,000 with that mileage.
if you don’t know anything about the car, why are you giving advice? The battery isn’t going to grenade in 70,000 miles.

You’re right. You know far more than I do. I wasn’t trying to start a fight or really give any advice. I know *nothing* about hybrids in general or this car specifically, and I read the link to the jalop article you posted and enjoyed it. I do know there’s been some concern about batteries on hybrids, and I don’t think I was doing anyone a disservice by raising one eyebrow based on the high mileage on a used car. No offense or questionable advice intended. I’m just trying to learn a bit here myself, not trying to be an authority.
